Dress in systems
Kilimanjaro crosses rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and arctic summit zones. Pack layers you can add or remove hourly—not one giant jacket you never take off.
Clothing essentials
Moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers (fleece/down), waterproof hard shell, warm hat, sun hat, gloves (liner + insulated), hiking trousers, and thermal sleepwear.
Footwear
Broken-in waterproof mid boots, gaiters optional, thick trekking socks, and camp shoes for evenings. Blisters end more summits than weather—test boots on long training hikes.
Summit night kit
Headlamp with spare batteries, warmest layers, hand warmers, and snacks you can eat when nauseous. We supply tents, sleeping mats, and meals on camping routes.
What we provide vs what you rent
Kilimawe crews carry group gear, dining tents, and cooking equipment. Sleeping bags and some down jackets can be rented in Moshi if you want to travel light.
